Our Nursery |
|
Fourways has four rooms, each one equipped to cater for a different age group.
We have two baby rooms catering for the under two’s, 6 children in each room with a ratio of 1:3. One room is designed to cater for babies who are able to walk and the other room for young babies. We have a lively 2-3 year old room with a ratio of 1-4 and a pre-school room which can accommodate 12 over 3 year olds with in a ratio of 1-8.
Fourways also offers three outdoor play areas: a patio area with gazebo where children can enjoy ball games, bikes, push along toys and role play. An all weather area with climbing frames, slides and other equipment. The third play area is design to cater for the after school with space for games and a large climbing frame.
All staff at Fourways are qualified and experienced in the care and education of children and attend regular training courses to ensure up to date practice is carried out enabling us to provide the best possible care. There is always a qualified first aider on site at all times and we have a health and safety officer to maintain the well being of the children.
Fourways operates a key person system which ensures that individual needs of the child are met. This also gives parents an initial point of contact to share information on a daily basis

Education |
At Fourways we recognise that parent/carers are a child’s first and ongoing educators, we welcome the opportunity to work with you as co-educators.
With this in mind all children who attend the nursery now follow “The early years foundation stage” (EYFS) framework which is designed to support their learning from birth to five years. The EYFS is produced by the DfES and is designed to ensure all children get the best possible start in life and are supported to fulfil their full potential.
Each child has a file that is a record called a “Learning Journey”. It’s a record of their progress and development and is a celebration of their achievements.
Every child aged over three, is entitled to 5 x 2.5 hour sessions of free nursery education for 38 weeks of the year (term-time). For more details, please speak to a member of staff.
